Yesterday was Sam's first anniversary of living at the Doolittle Ranch. Last year we had agreed to bring him home for a trial run as I wasn't too sure how the dogs would react to having a cat live with us. When we got him home we set him up in one of the spare rooms and put a baby's gate up so the dogs couldn't get in but they could see each other. The first few days Sam didn't venture out of his room and then by the end of that he started coming out to test things out. Shiloh was very curious and wouldn't leave him alone so Sam had to swat her a couple of times. He didn't even have his claws out he just was giving her a warning to back off. Mixer was curious but didn't go near the cat as think he was possibly a bit scared of him. Now they just politely ignore one another. Mixer is really good as long as Sam respects his space and so far they have. It always amazes me how animals are so good at giving each other space, people could learn a lot from animals.
It is like Sam has always lived with us now and can't imagine life with out him.
Happy Anniversary big guy!

Yes I think Sam does know and seems to be happy ruling the roost around here.
You are so right it would be a better world if people would follow animals examples.
I forgot to mention, I love your picture and is great putting a face to the words.
