Morning

Well I am still here, haven't posted for awhile as it has been very hectic here for the past few weeks.

My brother and his family came on Friday Sept 1 and then my other sis and her family came on Saturday night bringing their motor home so we all had a great visit. Hubby had never met my bro's kids before so that was kind of cool.
Thankfully the weather was awesome and we were able to be outside either sitting by the fire or in the pool, everyone seemed to have a great time. Saturday morning I saddled up Prettygirl and took the kids for a ride around the corral and she was really good.

Had to laugh as took this picture one morning when we were out for a walk, it looked like we were doing a walk for the cure or something.

The chickens have settled in really well and I love having them. They rush to the gate everytime I show up now and wait for anything that I am going to give them. They love rice, noodles, bread and any veggies. They love tomatoes which really surprised me. Still no eggs yet though!. Hubby keeps telling them that if someone doesn't start laying soon they are going to be invited for dinner!. As if!, he could never do that so idle threats and think they know it.
The dogs have been awesome and after the first few days they don't even seem to be interested in the chickens anymore.

I went and helped move cattle last week and then on Saturday we got to go to a Poker Rally. Hubby was riding one of Al's horses and we left around 12:45 and never got back until just after five so was a really good long ride. None of us won any money but it was a fun day all the same.

Got a call from a friend on the weekend and looks like they have sold their place so that means they will need somewhere for their horses to go as they haven't got the new one fenced off yet. We said they could come here so that should be interesting to see how that goes. It is a mare and a gelding and they have been together for a long time so they don't want to break them up so will keep them in the back pasture and see how things go. They will only be seperated from my horses by a fence so hopefully there won't be any problems. Got to get that other section fenced off, that was a project that was supposed to get done on hubby's holiday but of course didn't.

Today I get the fun job of draining the pool as we are meant to get some cold weather by the end of the week. Will be kind of sad to drain it as another sign that snow is a comin.....

Well that is all for now, will try to update more frequently now that things should be quieter around here. Will just leave you with a few pics.
